Intermediate Wildland Fire Behavior - 32 hours Training

COURSE DESCRIPTION
This is a 32 hour classroom-based skills course designed to prepare the
prospective supervisor to undertake safe and effective fire management
operations. It is the second course in a series that collectively
serves to develop fire behavior prediction knowledge and skills.
OBJECTIVES
Identify and describe the environmental, topographic, and fuel
factors which influence the behavior of wildland fire.
Identify and describe the causes of extreme fire behavior, such
as spotting, crowning, fire whirls, plume dominated and wind-driven
fires. Assess fireline data and fire behavior estimations, and identify
areas where fire suppression limitations exist.
Target Group:
Firefighter (FFT2) Prerequisites:
Introduction to Wildland Fire Behavior (S-190). Suggested two years of wildland fire experience. Please send copy with prework payment or fax of S-190 certificate.
Date of Course: May 13, 14, 15, 16 When registering use Class S-290 on May 13.
Register as soon as possible so I can send you prework.
Prework: Successful completion of Prework and passing the prework test at 70% or more is required before attending this class. A $20 non-refundable pre payment (cash or check) is required to receive the prework package. This is included in the tuition. The balance of the tuition of $200 can be paid on the first day of the class.
