Annual Fire Shelter Training for USFS Emergency

This Refresher Training is required each year. This course is four hours and will be done concurrently with RT-130 at the same location. The course covers Risk Management, LCES, Fire Orders, Eighteen Watch-Out Situations and Fire Shelter Training. Each student will be required to successfully deploy a fire shelter and must be capable of getting in and out of the shelter without assistance. The course is designed for contractors who intend to obtain Emergency Equipment Rental Agreements with the US Forest Service. Upon completion of the class each participant will receive a certificate of completion which can be submitted to the Forest Service as proof of training, and a card that can be presented at the Incident Command post.  This course does not take the place of the eight hour Annual Firefighter Refresher required for Firefighters, engine crews, and water tender operators.

Course hours: 1 P.M. to 5 P.M.

Prerequisites: : None.

Target Positions: Operators of dozers, skidders, feller bunchers, graders, excavators, buses, transports, shop & fuel trucks, ambulances, gray/black water units, potable water units; AD fallers, drivers of pickups, SUVs, sedans, & cargo.

Cost: $25.00 per student - Includes course materials, handouts, a certificate of completion, and a pocket card for presentation at any Incident Command Post.  Tuition may be paid by cash or check at the class.
