Annual Fire Shelter Training for USFS
Emergency
Equipment Rental Agreements Training
Schedule
This Refresher Training is required each year. This course is four hours. The
course covers Risk Management, LCES, Fire Orders, Eighteen Watch-Out Situations
and Fire Shelter Training. Each student will be required to successfully deploy
a fire shelter and must be capable of getting in and out of the shelter without assistance. The course is designed for contractors who intend to obtain
Emergency Equipment Rental Agreements with the US Forest Service. Upon completion
of the class each participant will receive a certificate of completion which
can be submitted to the Forest Service as proof of training, and a card that can be presented at the Incident Command post. This course
does not take the place of the eight hour Annual Firefighter Refresher required
for Firefighters, engine crews, and water tender operators.
Course hours: 1:00 P.M. to 5 P.M.
Prerequisites: None.
Target Positions: Operators of dozers, skidders, feller
bunchers, graders, excavators, buses, transports, shop & fuel trucks, ambulances, gray/black
water units, potable water units; AD fallers, drivers of pickups, SUVs, sedans, & cargo.
Maximum Class Size: 30
Location: Aero Methow Rescue Service, 1005 Highway 20 S, Twisp, WA. This is on the left or south side of the highway, about two blocks before crossing the Methow River Bridge, as you enter Twisp from the south.
Cost: $25.00 per student - Includes course materials, handouts, a certificate
of completion and a pocket card for presentation at any Incident Command Post. Tuition may be paid by cash or check at the training session.
