Annual Fireline Safety Refresher Training is designed to provide up to date fireline safety information to employees holding Incident Command System qualifications requiring this training per the PMS 310-1, Wildland Fire Qualification System Guide. 

The RT-130 Annual Fireline Safety Refresher Training is required each year. This course is an eight hour block of instruction. The course covers Risk Management, Entrapment Avoidance, Fire Behavior Refresher, LCES, Fire Orders, Eighteen Watch Out Situations and Fire Shelter Training, and NIFC emphasis items;


RT-130 Annual Fireline Safety Refresher Training Course hours: 8 A.M. to 5 P.M.


Prerequisites: None.

Target Positions: Firefighters, operators of water tenders, dozers, skidders, feller bunchers, graders, excavators, buses, transports, shop & fuel trucks, ambulances, fallers, drivers of pickups, SUVs, sedans, & cargo or any operator who will be going to the fireline.


Maximum Class Size: 30

Location: Aero Methow Rescue Service, 1005 Highway 20 S, Twisp, WA. This is on the left or south side of the highway, about two blocks before crossing the Methow River Bridge, as you enter Twisp from the south.

Cost: $65.00, per student $50.00 in February - Includes course materials, handouts, a certificate of completion and a pocket card for presentation at any Incident Command Post For those who do not need a red card.  Tuition may be paid by cash or check at the training session.

Incident Blanket Purchase Agreement (non fireline) Fire Shelter Training:  If you are an operator who will not be going to the fireline then you need the 4 hour training session covering Personal Protective Equipment, Fire Orders, Watchouts, LCES, and the shelter deployment then this will be presented from 1PM to 5PM.  Cost for the 4 hour portion is $30. If in doubt I recommend that you attend all 8 hours to be sure that you will meet the requirements of your contract.

Student Responsibility: Bring Incident Response Pocket Guide, fireline boots, hardhat, and gloves for shelter deployment practice.
